Hi, my name is Angelica! I am a musician studying Music, Sound Recording, and Theater at the University of New Haven. 

 

My Musical Background

I'm primarily a singer who dabbles in all sorts of genres, and my passion is performing and writing music. My dream career is to do both for a living, and since going to college, I've grown so much studying audio engineering and the music industry. Loving music has given me a deep appreciation and fascination for how it all works. I particularly enjoy exploring what makes specific music unique. Growing up on trip hop, electronica, pop, soul, hip hop, world music, all kinds of rock, and more, I've developed an ear for many different styles of music.

Why Trip Hop 

​

I've always gravitated heavily to electronica, particularly to the subgenre trip hop. My deeper fascination came when I began my studies in sound recording. My journey in unpacking these genres continue, and I want to share what I learn. Not many people around me are familiar with trip hop, which I find incredibly unfortunate. Writing about it is an opportunity to share my ever-growing love for music as I discover more.
